Honduras to use eight-digit fixed numbers
Honduras to use eight-digit fixed numbers from 14 November
Tuesday 2 November 2010 | 11:47 CET
Honduras will add the number 2 as a prefix for all fixed phone numbers on 14 November, announced telecommunications regulator Conatel. This will increase fixed numbers from seven to eight digits, based on growth projections and bringing the country in line with international standards. The new numbering system will give Honduras enough numbers for the next 50 years. Honduras is the last country in Central America to increase its fixed numbering system to eight digits.
