Equipment Specialist

Do you know why your regulator needs to be rebuilt if you do not replace the dust cap before rinsing? Or, why the color of the sintered filter is important to the proper functioning of your first stage? These are just a couple of the things you will learn in the Equipment Specialist Class.

This class covers dive equipment, styles and options available, and how it works. In the Equipment Specialist course, you will: 

  • Gain practical knowledge of the theory, principles and operation of diving equipment,
  • Be able to perform routine, recommended care and maintenance procedures,
  • Learn proper equipment storage,
  • Learn simple suggestions for comfortable equipment configurations,
  • Be introduced  to new equipment,
  • See a complete regulator overhaul,
  • Take part in a scuba cylinder inspection.

Manual: “Encyclopedia of Diving”  at $ 40 is recommended
Time Commitment: 10 to 12 hours
